Bus service cuts tipped amid passenger decline

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is expected to start reducing bus services from Sunday, after passenger numbers dwindled amid the resurgence of Covid-19. BMTA director Surachai Iamwachirasakul said executives would on Friday discuss how to streamline the service after daily passenger numbers fell from 800,000 to 500,000 following the Covid-19 upsurge last month.
